Mira Mesa - Halloween Carnivals

Lopez Ridge Park (7245 Calle Cristobal, San Diego, CA 92126) is hosting a Halloween Carnival for kids (up to 6 years old) on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 11 am to 1 pm.

Mira Mesa Rec Center (8575 New Salem St, San Diego, CA 92126) is hosting a Halloween Carnival for all ages on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm.

San Diego County Fair - Paw Patrol Tour

This is the last weekend for the San Diego County Fair and the Paw Patrol Tour will be stopping by for one day only!

"Your favorite pups are rolling to the San Diego County Fair on a multi-city tour. Enter the PAW Patroller vehicle, which contains a life-sized PAW Patrol Headquarters through which kids can walk. Within the PAW Patroller experience, there are interactive games, a life-sized Lookout Tower (with working periscopes) and a slide to take kids on to the next mission.

The tour includes activations featuring two new segments launching this fall, Jungle Rescue and Roll Patrol. PAW Patrol fans can take photos in the Jungle area featuring the new pup tracker, and then ride on life-sized Roll Patrol racers around a track and finish their day by taking a photo with PAW Patrol pups, Chase, Marshall, Skye and Rubble."

San Diego County Fair - FREE Tickets for Teachers

Starting May 2, 2016, teachers can pick up free tickets to the San Diego County Fair at Mission Federal Credit Unions.

Just show your school ID.  Tickets are only valid for June 17 or June 24.

Saturday, April 30, 2016 kicks off our local celebration with a free 5K at 7:30 am.  The starting line is at the Latter-Day Saints chapel at 12835 Black Mountain Rd (near the 56). It will be followed by a free pancake breakfast at the finish line!

The Salvation Army Kroc Center - FREE Family Read & Play Day

The Salvation Army Kroc Center offers several free family events.  One of which is a free monthly Family Read and Play Day for kids 5 and under.  The event lasts for an hour and starts off with reading a couple of books.  Each month features a new book that will be read and then each child gets a copy of that book to take home.  The next three dates are April 12, May 10, and June 14 from 10 am to 11 am.  

When we went last month, the featured book was Brontorina by James Howe.

If it's your first time, your child will also get a free backpack.

The backpack comes with several free books, a pencil, stickers, and some information.

After story time, the kids are invited to play with the Imagination Playground.  Kendo had a great time trying to connect and climb on the pieces.

If you've never been to the Salvation Army Kroc Center, it can be confusing trying to figure out where to go.  Once you make it into the parking lot, as you face the buildings, the pool should be in the middle and the preschool is the first building on the left.  You want to go to the last building on the right.
